Blue Textured Enamel Earrings
Blue Textured Enamel Earrings
Blue Textured Enamel Earrings are made from a base of copper sheet that is hand cut. They were slightly domed and dimpled with a nail set and hammer. Once clean and dry, I add a layer of powdered glass (vitreous enamel) to the back side and fire it in a kiln. After it cools, the piece is cleaned and coated with another layer of enamel on the front side and fired in a kiln. This process is repeated until an even layer of enamel coats the copper form. They are paired with my handmade sterling silver ear wires that have been oxidized to a dark gray finish.
